Welcome to the 3rd Grade!
Dear Parents,
First and foremost, I cannot begin to express how excited I am to have your son or daughter in my classroom. The 3rd grade is going to be a fun, yet challenging time for your student. My classroom is a welcoming safe space for everyone to enjoy. To extend that support for knowledge, I hope that you will also be an active part of your student's education. To keep communication open, I like to use "traveling folders". It’s a simple folder that the student always carries in their backpack to the class and back home. On one side of the folder is papers going home to the parents (i.e. graded papers, PTA letters, awards, etc.) and on the other side are papers for the teacher (i.e. permission slips, comment cards, questions or concerns, etc.). That way there is a consistent form of communication open to both the classroom and the family. Again, I would love for any parents to be involved in the classroom in any way. Please let me know if there is a special skill you can share or if you have time to help out in the classroom! You are invited to phone me or visit the school any time that you have a question concerning your child's progress. Thank you so much for your continued support. Sincerely, Daniel Lu |
